A $10,000 grant from Molina Healthcare of Michigan supports a new creative arts program at the West Bloomfield Township Public Library for caregivers and people experiencing memory loss.
The program, called "The Fine Art of Caregiving," offers art therapy sessions connecting caregivers with their loved ones through shared creative experiences, according to Civic Center TV. The library’s event calendar describes a four-session series led by Taylor Beardsall, a board-certified registered art therapist. Caregivers and their loved ones should attend together.
The program joins the library's existing health, wellness and social programming for adults 55 and older.
The series was scheduled to begin Oct. 14. Remaining sessions are scheduled from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesdays, Oct. 21, Oct. 28 and Nov. 4, in the Main Library’s Community Commons. Registration is required through the library’s event calendar, and participants may sign up for individual sessions.
The Main Library is at 4600 Walnut Lake Road in West Bloomfield. Residents can call 248-682-2120 for more information.
